1. Is your on-site measurement and consultation service obligation-free?

Our on-site measurements and consultation are entirely obligation-free. However, we kindly ask that these visits be scheduled by those who are seriously considering moving forward with their project. This helps ensure that our time together is both productive and beneficial. We assure you that we do not engage in hard selling or sweet talk. We believe in being straightforward and transparent. Our priority is to provide you with all the necessary information so you can make an informed decision. We appreciate your understanding and look forward to assisting you when you're ready to proceed with your project.

Whether you decide to work with us or another provider, we wish you the very best with your project!

2. Do you have a showroom?

We are a direct carpentry firm. Unlike ID firms or contractors, we are carpenters, the suppliers of custom furniture; thus, we do not have any luxurious showrooms available for viewing, but we do have our very own carpentry workshop, which you are welcome to visit. The main purpose of our workshop is the fabrication of furniture. When you visit our workshop, you will be able to have a closer look at our ongoing carpentry work as well as the materials, tools, and machines we use for furniture fabrication. Meanwhile, you may visit our gallery page to view some of our completed work for our clients.

3. How to work with carpenters for your carpentry projects?

When you're working with carpenters but design isn't your forte, good communication is the secret sauce! Clearly let us know about your needs, and feel free to show us any cool ideas you've seen in magazines or online. We'll adjust the design to fit your space perfectly. To make things easier, we'll even draw quick sketches so you can see how everything will look when it's done. If you're unsure about the design you want, don't worry—we offer free space planning and design services. We have decades of experience working with interior design companies, supplying our furniture to them, so you can trust us to help bring your vision to life. Just set some ground rules about timing, budget, and your expectations, and don't hesitate to ask questions along the way. Let's work together to create a space you'll love!

4. What materials do you typically work with?

We typically work with a variety of materials to meet our clients' needs and preferences. Our standard features for handmade custom furniture include:

  • Main Material: Solid plywood serves as the primary material for all carpentry work. However, we also offer solid wood as an alternative option.

  • External Finishes: The external structure of our furniture is finished with high-pressure laminate. Clients can also opt for finishes such as veneer, polyurethane spray, glass, or mirror finishes.

  • Internal Finishes: Internally, we use pearl white PVC for finishing. However, we provide options like laminate, veneer, colored PVC, or Woodgrain PVC to accommodate diverse preferences.

  • Edge Trimming: To ensure a polished look, all exposed edges are trimmed. Additionally, clients have the option of aluminum framing as an alternative choice.

  • Functionality: Our furniture comes equipped with standard furnishing components or soft-closing mechanisms to ensure optimal functionality. Alternatively, clients can choose from options like Blum, multifunctional, or automatic cabinetry systems to suit their specific needs.

By offering these materials and finishes, we aim to provide customizable solutions tailored to each client's requirements and design preferences.

5. Is the solid plywood used compliant with EO safety regulations?

We offer two premium solid plywood options for your furniture fabrication: Non-EO Grade Plywood, which is durable, cost-effective, and provides flexible design options with a wide range of PVC colors, and EO Grade Plywood, an environmentally friendly choice with low formaldehyde emissions, safer for indoor use. EO Grade Plywood incurs an additional $10 to $20 per foot run charge (subjected to the height of the cabinets).

6. What are the advantages of purchasing furniture from carpenters, the suppliers of custom furniture?

Purchasing carpentry directly from carpenters offers several benefits compared to going through interior designers or contractors:

  • Customization: Carpenters can work closely with customers to create bespoke furniture tailored to their exact specifications and preferences, providing a personalized touch that may not be achievable through other channels.

  • Cost-effectiveness: By eliminating middlemen like interior designers or contractors, purchasing directly from carpenters can often result in lower costs, as there are fewer markups and fees involved in the process.

  • Quality Control: Working directly with carpenters allows for better oversight and control over the quality of materials and craftsmanship, ensuring that the final product meets expectations.

  • Direct Communication: Dealing directly with carpenters enables clear and direct communication, which can help streamline the decision-making process and ensure that all requirements are effectively communicated and understood.

Overall, purchasing carpentry directly from carpenters offers greater customization, cost-effectiveness, quality control, and direct communication compared to going through interior designers or contractors.

7. Do you create drawings to show us how the furniture will look?

We are not restricted to woodworking; we also produce drawings daily. Getting carpenters to comprehend your design concept isn't tough. we provide drawings upon confirmation of an order. For basic 3D drawings that depict the layout of the furniture, these are provided at no charge once an order is confirmed. These drawings are a helpful visual representation of how the furniture will be arranged in your space. If you require more detailed and realistic renderings, we offer this service at an additional cost of $80 per drawing.

8. Does Jia Soon Carpentry offer any warranties or guarantees on the quality and durability of the furniture?

We stand by the quality of our workmanship and offer a warranty on our furniture to give you peace of mind. We also encourage our clients to take proper care of the furniture we build for them to ensure its longevity and continued beauty.

9. Are there any additional fees or charges to consider?

Our approach to pricing custom furniture is entirely transparent, characterized by detailed quotes that comprehensively outline all associated costs. We take pride in offering competitive pricing without any hidden fees. Please be aware that project orders totaling less than $2000 will be subject to an additional $80 delivery fee. This fee structure enables us to uphold our commitment to providing exceptional service while catering to projects of different sizes.

11. What is the estimated timeline for completion?

The timeline varies depending on the complexity of the project and our current workload. We'll provide you with a clear estimate during the initial consultation so you know what to expect.

12. Is delivery and installation included in the price?

Yes, both delivery and installation are included in the quoted price. You won't encounter any hidden fees or additional charges for these services. However, it's important to note that project orders below $2000 will incur an additional delivery fee of $80. This structure allows us to maintain the highest standards of service while accommodating varying project sizes.

13. Can I request drawings before confirming my order to visualize how the furniture will look?

We typically confirm orders before providing any computerized drawings. However, if you'd prefer to see the design in advance, we do offer basic 3D drawings for $50 each. For a more immersive preview, we also provide detailed, lifelike renderings for an additional $80 per drawing. Please note that these drawings focus on the design and layout of the furniture only. Additionally, once your order is confirmed, we will conduct a second measurement before beginning our work. This ensures that all details are accurate or adjusted as needed. As such, purchasing drawings beforehand may not capture the most precise measurements, which could change after the second measurement.
